on Computer Literacy Day Swetaparna Tripathy, 2nd December is celebrated as the World Computer Literacy Day. Though at present India is considered as a superpower in the field of Information Technology, yet there are many in rural areas and smaller towns who do not have access to computers. On the other hand, people who live in metros, are highly successful, and just at a click of a mouse can gather a lot of knowledge. Computers open up new avenues of knowledge, information, work, entertainment and communication. Therefore the definition of literacy which was once considered to be the ability to read and write, has to be changed .In my opinion the definition of literacy should be read, write plus some computer knowledge. World Computer Literacy Day will remove the IT ignorance from the faces of ordinary people. Like EUROPEANS, may He grant you wish To wash your hands in the holy waters of perfections, I know not why I am so crazy, May be at the outset of the prosperous New year, With pounding thoughts in mind, I wish all my D.A.V MATES a great and prosperous New Year. Hurrah!! Hurrah!! Oh! see how all the hands of the clock get together, To WELCOME and come well on "The 12.00". Gone Gone Gone the primitive and Nasty hopes and be buried in the ditches. GOD IS MY FRIEND I like to ride in open space perhaps you think I have not got a friend but I am telling you that this is the truth Never I am alone because god is my friend. He rides along with me in sunny weather He comes along on rainy daysas well no matter where I ride he is always at my side never am I alone. Because God is my friend when sky is dark with stormy weather I should fear and tremble neverSomeone who shelters me for- ever I am alone never Because god is my friend.
